movie review: The Roaring Twenties
I loved this movie. This is going on my top ten list of favorite movies of all time. This was a great look at America in the 1920's. It follows Eddie (James Cagney) after he gets back from WWI. He can't find a job so he starts to drive a taxi with his friend Danny. The prohibition hits and he learns he can make some money bootlegging. He rises to the top in the business and has it out with a few mobs. Then "Black Tuesday" hits and he goes bankrupt, sells the business to his corrupt partner and ends up driving a taxi again. It is a great Depiction of life in the twenties, great acting, great storyline, and a pretty cool ending.
