Missions Day Eight: Travel home
We woke up still early, 6am for a breakfast. Gary and Rean went to the house to prime it, and the rest of us packed up, cleaned, and loaded the vans. We drove around looking at all the job sites we had participated in, and then headed for the airport.
New Orleans security was slow, and we made it to the gate just as boarding began. We loaded up and flew away. Most of us felt as though we were leaving family and friends behind. We were sad to leave, yet excited to come home and tell all of our experience.
We arrived in Chicago O'Hare at 7pm, got our baggage, loaded up on a school bus and headed home.
We arrived at the church at 12:30am and the trip was over. But the changes that we all experience changed us. So when we arrived home, we were different, and home felt more like home, we were all more experienced, and had a level of depth that we had not experienced before, so we are now more capable of taking on the things here at home. Home is more like home, now that we have left it and come back.
